[0:00] And the angel said to them, Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.
[0:12] For unto you was born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. Man, I love Christmas.
[0:24] I love all the traditions and spending time with family and friends. But most of all, I love the fact that Christmas is all about Jesus.
[0:35] And it fills me with so much joy. What's your favorite thing about Christmas? So we get together with our grandparents and we get to open presents and have a fun time and eat a big meal.
[0:51] I love decorating for Christmas and putting lights on the tree and putting up ornaments. It's really fun to spend time with family and I enjoy, like Aaron said, opening gifts with our grandparents too.
[1:03] My favorite thing about Christmas is that we always decorate the Christmas tree and watch the Grinch together, which is always made for a good time. My favorite thing about Christmas is going to my grandparents' house after Christmas and we have like a Walter's Christmas at their house.
[1:19] My favorite thing to do every, well, every other Christmas, we'll go to Chicago and we'll just have a good time and watch movies and sit by the fire.
[1:32] My favorite thing about Christmas is probably decorating for Christmas at my grandparents' house. Christmas. Getting presents.
[1:43] Uh, definitely having everything paid off by January 1st. That's my favorite. Merry Christmas! Merry Christmas! Bible stories with a random do-do-do-do-do.
[2:00] What's up all you dudes and dudettes? I'm a random dude and this is a Bible story. Our story today is about the birth of Jesus.
[2:14] It comes from the Gospel of Luke, chapters 1 and 2. So, there's this girl named Mary and like, she's engaged to this dude named Joseph and then like, this angel comes to her and is like, Hey Mary, what's up? Guess what? You're gonna have a baby!
[2:31] And she's like, what? Me? And he's like, yeah! And guess what? He's gonna be the Savior. You're gonna call him Jesus. And Mary's like, how can that be? And then like, I gotta get married first.
[2:43] And he's like, no, no, no. The Holy Spirit. And she's like, what? And the angel's like, yeah, it's gonna be totally awesome. Mary and the dude she's engaged to, Joseph, they have to go take a little tripsie down the road because this guy named like, Ranch Augustus or something like that, he decides like, he wants to count all the people and see how many there are.
[3:03] So, either way, they're like cruising on a donkey and they go to this town called Bethlehem. And while they're there, there's like all these other people. And Mary, she's like pregnant, just like the angel had said.
[3:15] So, Mary and Joseph, they're going around and they're looking for a room and they go to the innkeeper. And the innkeeper's like, no room for you! And he's like, come on, man, I gotta have a place. Look at my wife, she's preggers! And he's like, hey, man, we get real busy around Christmas time.
[3:28] And Joseph's like, around what time? So, anyways, Mary and Joseph, not able to find a hotel room because the Motel 6 is full, find a little spot in a stable.
[3:40] And there's like, there's some cows there. I think there were some sheep there. I think there might have been a pig, maybe? There's definitely no squirrels. So, outside of Bethlehem, there's these dudes counting sheep.
[3:53] Not because they're sleepy, but because that's their job. They're shepherds. So, they're out there. I think one of them's name was Mike. The other one's name was Toby. Nobody really likes him.
[4:04] There was one named Donnie with a really sweet beard. But, anyways, they were there hanging out, checking out the sheep. And then, all of a sudden, an angel appears. And he's like, hey, brosquitos, guess what?
[4:17] I got some good news. And it's going to make you really, really happy. Almost joyful, some might say. Check out this great news. A Savior has been born unto you.
[4:28] Yeah, it's Christ. You can go and you can see him. He's in a manger. He's going to be wrapped up in swaddling clothes. And then, out of nowhere, more angels.
[4:41] And they're all singing. And they're like, glory to God. This is so awesome. This is fantastic. And then, the angels are gone. One of the sheep, I think his name was Kevin.
[4:54] And he's like, hey, broseps, I think we should go check out this thing that the angels told us about. And they're like, yeah, I think we should do that. So, they go running down the road ski. And they come upon the manger where Mary and Joseph are.
[5:08] And just like the angel told them, boom, there was Jesus. And when the shepherds saw Jesus, they were like, oh, dude.
[5:38] Merry Christmas. This is such a wonderful time of the year. There's things like traditions. Maybe you get to hang out with your family. Or maybe you get some really cool presents.
[5:51] But what about when things aren't so good? What about when maybe you don't have any traditions? Or you don't get to see your family. You don't get all the presents you want.
[6:02] Or if you're still quarantined from COVID. What about then? In our story today, the angels told the shepherd that they were bringing good news of great joy.
[6:15] Well, what is this good news? And what do we have to be joyful about? Especially in a time like now. We can be joyful because God sent his son Jesus to us just like he promised.
[6:29] Throughout the Old Testament, the prophets told about a savior that would come and redeem his people. When those people were in exile, it was really hard to be joyful.
[6:41] Because they had been told there was a good thing coming, but they had not seen it yet. The good news is that Jesus came. Jesus came as a baby. He grew into a man so that he could die for you and for me.
[6:55] But his death brings us life. And that's something that we can be joyful about. Sometimes in life, we can be joyful. But that joy is based on our circumstances.
[7:06] It's based on when we get presents for our birthday or for Christmas. Or maybe it's based on being able to go hang out with our friends. But what happens when the pressures of life come?
[7:17] That's what this pen represents. The bad stuff that comes. These are some pretty impressive muscles. Let's see if they can withstand this pressure.
[7:31] I'm going to try your other muscle, okay? No. These muscles, well, they were joy muscles that were built on our circumstances.
[7:43] Not on God. The Bible tells us that the joy of the Lord is our strength. Now, these muscles are pretty big, just like the last muscles we saw.
[7:54] But these muscles find their strength in God. Because they know that God loves them and God cares for them. So let's see how these muscles stand up to the trials and tribulations.
[8:09] You ready? Mm-hmm. Well, let me try this one. You see, these muscles are no match for the bad things that come in our life.
[8:26] Because these muscles know that the joy of the Lord is their strength. No matter what may happen around us, we can find our source of joy in God.
[8:37] Jesus came to give us life in Him. And it all starts with Christmas. Jesus coming to earth just like God promised. And that's something that we can all be joyful about.
[8:50] Joy to the world. The Lord has come. Let her receive her King.
[9:08] Let every heart prepare Him room. And heaven and nature sing. And heaven and nature sing.
[9:21] And heaven and heaven and nature sing. Glory to the King. He is everything. Our hearts will rejoice and sing.
[9:35] Glory to the King. Let the praises ring. Our hearts will rejoice and sing. Joy to the King.
[9:45] Joy to the King. Joy to the world. Joy to the world. The Savior reigns.
[9:58] Let men their songs employ. While fields and floods.
[10:10] Rocks, hills, hills, and plain. Repeat the sound. Enjoy. Repeat the sound. Repeat the sound. Enjoy. Repeat, repeat the sound.
[10:25] Glory to the King. He is everything. Our hearts will rejoice and sing. Glory to the King.
[10:36] Let the praises ring. Our hearts will rejoice and sing. Joy to the world.
[10:49] Keep them bells ringing. Keep them bells ringing. Keep them bells ringing.
[10:59] Keep them bells ringing. Keep them bells ringing. Glory to the King. He is everything. Our hearts will rejoice and sing.
[11:12] Glory to the King. Let the praises ring. Let the praises ring. Our hearts will rejoice and sing. Joy to the world. Joy to the world.
[11:22] Joy to the world. Joy to the world. Joy to the world. He is everything. He is everything. Our hearts will rejoice and sing. Glory to the world.
[11:39] Dear God. Dear God. Joy for the world What a great song celebrating the birth of our King Jesus.
[12:01] I hope that this Christmas season is filled with joy, just like we sang about. Even though we might be in quarantine, even though we might not be able to see all the friends and family that we want to, maybe we're not able to travel, whatever it may be, we can still be joyful because we know that there's a God who loves us.
[12:23] He loved us so much, He sent His Son Jesus to die on the cross for you and for me, and that makes me joyful. On behalf of all of us here at One Harbor Church, I would just like to say Merry Christmas.
[12:37] We love you and God does too.
